Building Community in 2-5 Morning Meeting

 In our 2-5 morning meetings, we are currently completing a social skills unit on empathy. To help build empathy and community in our class, students had the opportunity to create a presentation about themselves, and to opt to share with the class if they felt inclined to do so. They were encouraged to pick any aspect of their lives they wanted to share about themselves, choosing whether they wanted to talk about a favorite hobby/sport/game, their families, share pictures, etc. Although we aren't going to spend any more time working on this in class, they are encouraged to work on this at home if they want to add more to their presentations and share it with the class at a later date.
