Data Analysis in 6/7 Math

Image
Today the students in 6/7 finished presenting their data analysis projects. They created a survey to administer to the students at LTSA in order to collect data that was of personal interest to them. Next, they analyzed their data by finding different measures of center and variability. Finally, they used displays, including histograms, dot plots, and box plots, to organize their data. They did a great job giving and receiving thoughtful feedback on their work and using statistics to make meaningful conclusions about their data!

Plant Biodiversity Investigation

This week Biology students presented their Biodiversity research projects. Then we took advantage of the beautiful weather and spent most of our class time outdoors on Wednesday kicking off the beginning of our Plant Biodiversity Investigation. We still have to finish recording our findings so that we can continue to analyze the data, but even based on these initial findings students had some great insight and discussion about things they noticed.
