LTSA Student Wiki

Students started the year with various learning experiences to practice teamwork, leadership skills, and developing a growth mindset. We have explored the ideas of equity vs equality, as well as empathy, including the graphic novel, New Kid, read by 4th-7th grade students.  During this initial unit several students began to share “how-to” videos or helpful links on different subject area Google Classroom feeds. However, it wasn’t easy for students in different classes to easily access those resources. So, students were challenged to create a central location where all students could collaborate and contribute information that they wanted to share with other LTSA students. Creating a Class Constitution

 Hello LTSA Parents! Students have been getting familiar with Google Classroom, and other technology tools these past two weeks. Both the Elementary group, as well as the 6th/7th group created a Class Constitution. I’ve attached those as well as a snapshot of a Jamboard from a brainstorming sessions, and I have to admit that I took one look and couldn’t stop smiling the rest of the day. I could not escape the singular thought that THIS is going to be a great year. Even with the craziness that is 2020, these students have their hearts and minds in the right place. I just can’t wait to see all we can accomplish together this year!
